Warp is the most well-known problems of the laminate flooring. The warp is most whys of water. Other factors, such as poor quality, improper installation, high temperature and heavy pressure laminate warp.

The swelling rate of most laminate
is about 4%. If too much water or vapor in support of laminate material, the boards will grow in a large sizes. They will warp since there is no such a large growth space at the joint. Some poor quality laminate warp even a little water penetrates its support material. So the following points should be cared for: 1. Laminate can not be used for the place with lots of water, such as bathroom or kitchen. 2. Water should at once be erased when it is splashed on the floor and it is in large quantity. 3. Regarding the warp problem due to water, water penetrates to the support of material from the surface for most cases. It is very difficult for water to penetrate the first layer, the wearing of low resistance. The most possible “leak” is the joint. Wax can be used to lock the system during production to make much more moisture-resistant laminate. The wax on the lock system resists water to penetrate the core. 5. Some areas are very humid. Vapor and often appears under laminate. It will be better to choose thick substrate. It will be better if double sides of the floor with PE film.

Laminate warp due to rain in many cases, especially the laminate neighouring to the window. Many users often forget to close the window to prevent rain on the floor. So widow must be closed before people leave the house or it starts to rain.

Improper installation can bring to warp. So the following points should be cared for: 1. It should even subfloor and dry. The moisture content of subfloor may not exceed 12%. 2. There must be at least 8mm wide expansion space between wall and the laminate. 3. Make the accessory such as the edge pressure laminate to prevent the free floating. 4. Step and furniture on the newly installed laminate floor 24 hours later since the installation.

Too high temperature can also make laminate flooring warp. Use a thick pad to keep things with too high a temperature as the labor-electric iron and then place it on floor.

The warp problem occurs often in heavy traffic. AC1 and AC2 grade laminate flooring is not suitable for heavy traffic as the target can not carry heavy sanding and heavy pressure. So only AC3, AC4 or Àc5 should be used on heavy traffic.
